2026 Session​​

Registration for Future Citizens
The registration portal will open on March 1, 2026. To register, you must have a Unit Access Code, which is provided by your local American Legion Auxiliary Unit.
Orientation sessions are held in late spring across the state. The Georgia Department is divided into twelve (12) districts, each with a designated Girls State Chairman. You can find the list of district chairmen here. Please note that not every district will offer an in-person orientation. A virtual orientation option will be announced in early May.
Arrival and Departure
Georgia Girls State will be held on the campus of Valdosta State University, with housing provided in Georgia Hall (Valdosta State University Campus Map & Directions).
Participants should report to Georgia Hall on Sunday, June 7, 2026, between 1:00 and 3:30 p.m.
The program concludes with a graduation and inauguration ceremony ending at approximately 11:30 a.m. Citizens may depart following the ceremony and should make arrangements to leave campus no later than 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026.
Inauguration and Graduation Ceremony
The Inauguration and Graduation for Georgia Girls State will take place in Whitehead Auditorium, located in the Fine Arts Building. Guests may park in the Oak Street Parking Deck.

The ceremony will finish ~11:30 am.

Citizens may leave following the graduation ceremony.

Citizens must be picked up no later than 1:00 pm.

Payment
ALA Units sponsoring girls shall make checks payable to Georgia Girls State. ($350.00) Put the American Legion Auxiliary Unit or Post number or Girl's name on the check. Send to:
